Travel Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Facility: 99-bed hospital, 6 operating rooms
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
• Hours per Week: 40
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• On-Call Requirements: Minimum 1 weekday per week, weekend rotation; on-call shifts Monday–Friday 3:30 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 - $2,120

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible for New Mexico nursing jobs)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a hospital or surgical center
• Clinical experience in general, orthopedic, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and trauma surgical cases
• Experience providing both adult and pediatric patient care in the operating room

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist in a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
• Maintain efficient case flow, manage surgical supplies, and ensure timely procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients' families and update physician preference cards as needed
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases as required
• Supervise and support clinical staff delivering patient care in the operating room
