Position Overview:
A facility in Concord, MA is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. Reporting to the IR Section Leader, the IR RN provides high-quality nursing care to both inpatient and outpatient populations, including pediatric, adult, elderly, and critically ill patients. The nurse ensures patient safety, dignity, and privacy while being prepared to manage any emergencies during radiologic procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care using the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • Assess and monitor patient condition, including vital signs and ECG interpretation.

  • Recognize and assist in the treatment of contrast reactions.

  • Intervene during medical emergencies and support critical care needs.

  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation and other medications as appropriate.

  • Assist radiologists with special procedures requiring professional nursing skills.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with patient identification protocols.

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-care instructions.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of nursing experience required

  • Critical care experience required

Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment, IV, and aseptic technique skills

  • Proficiency with patient monitoring and specialized medical equipment

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service abilities

  • Ability to function independently and maintain confidentiality

  • Computer proficiency required

Certifications:

  • BLS and ACLS – Required (AHA)

  • Active Massachusetts RN License – Required
