As an Associate Pharmacy Care Technician at Optum, you'll support pharmacy programs and processes, conducting outreach calls to members, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring operational responsibilities are met. Key Responsibilities
Conduct a high volume of outbound calls to members regarding medication compliance
Answer inbound calls from members and assist with inquiries
Validate member demographic information and document call details
Perform desk and on-site review of claims documentation
Support internal staff with Medicare drug-related issues
Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives
Maintain eligibility information confidentially
Exhibit excellent phone and communication skills
Adhere to schedule and quality metrics
Use a multi-lined telephonic system for calls regarding eligibility and medication refills
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Certified Pharmacy Technician CPhT (Must have national certification and be licensed in the state of Texas)
1+ years of customer service experience
6+ months of experience in a call center setting
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a physician’s clinic or hospital
6+ months medical terminology knowledge base
Knowledge of the Medicare Part D, particularly the pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules
Bilingual language proficiency (English/Spanish)
