Travel RN – Cardiac Telemetry Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry (3E CPU)
• Location: Bel Air, Maryland (Harford County)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Higher acuity adult patients
• Patient Population: Adult patients
• Unit Census: 30 patients, 30 beds
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Cardiac Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Active Maryland or Compact State Registered Nurse License
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• CPI and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system preferred
• Comfortable with a patient ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• Two professional references (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN) from recent employers
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility

Cardiac Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions, including CHF, COPD exacerbations, NSTEMI, new Afib, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products, cardiac drips (no titration), and heparin protocols
• Manage chest tubes, PICC lines, and peripheral IV lines
• Implement isolation precautions and respond to rapid response/code team protocols
• Support pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients and provide post-MI care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other hospital units as required, providing care within scope of experience
