Key Responsibilities
Assist the Pathologist in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection
Perform human postmortem examinations
Obtain pertinent clinical information and history
Describe gross anatomic features and dissection of surgical specimens
Prepare and submit tissue sections for histologic processing
Triages biological samples for special procedures
Photograph specimens as directed
Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the surgical pathology suite
Assist in overseeing Surgical Pathology Techs and Pathology Resident Training
Coordinate Anatomic Pathology Conferences
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree from an AAPA/NAACLS educational program
ASCP certification eligibility
PA (ASCP) must be obtained within one year of hire
