Job Description

Join Stanford Children's Hospital as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the Complex Primary Care Clinic, where you'll provide vital care to patients with diverse health needs. Collaborate with a dynamic medical team to evaluate, treat, and manage patient health through innovative practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine care and management of patients with acute and chronic complaints
  • Collaborate with supervising physician and implement standardized procedures
  • Evaluate and treat patients according to written standardized procedures
  • Perform pertinent physical exams and obtain complete histories
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic studies
  • Administer, order, furnish, and prescribe medications
  • Facilitate coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university (for PA)
  • Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (for PA)
  • Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (for NP)
  • Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California (for PA)
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (for PA)
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California (for NP)
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of California (for NP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (for both PA and NP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care
  • Additional board certifications as required by certain services/departments
