🧑⚕️ Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission
- Develop individualized care plans and update during re-evaluation team conferences
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)
- Educate patients/families throughout the care and discharge process
- Initiate discharge planning on day of admission
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes per hospital policy
- Communicate patient status changes to physicians and other care providers
- Lead and supervise LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
- May assume charge nurse responsibilities post-orientation
- Ensure a safe care environment for patients and staff
- Participate in team building and support unit functionality
- Report supply or training needs to management
- Promote cost-effective care while ensuring quality outcomes
- Engage in ongoing professional development and self-study
✅ Required Qualifications
- BLS Certification – Required prior to first shift
- ACLS Certification – Required for CIRH units only
- Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience
- Charge Nurse Experience – Required
