Job Description

Join ECHN as a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist, where you'll provide essential evaluations and treatments to patients, helping them improve or restore their function. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and contribute to community education while fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
  • Conducts and modifies evaluations to establish individualized goals
  • Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
  • Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
  • Utilizes techniques to normalize speech and language activity
  • Educates patients/families on home exercise programs
  • Determines discharge when maximal benefit is achieved
  • Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
  • Fosters communication regarding patient care
  • Submits charges accurately and consistently
  • Adheres to professional code of ethics
  • Performs duties with proper body mechanics and safety
  • Supervises affiliated students
  • Attends continuing education courses
  • Participates in departmental or community in-service

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
  • Current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
