Position Details:

Come join a fantastic   level one trauma center team   that recently won   AP team of the year   for Hartford Hospital! The Advanced Practitioners (APPs) are part of a multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care for trauma patients from the emergency room to the operating room, surgical floors, critical care units, and outpatient settings.   Extensive training and onboarding   will be provided for skills including but not limited to management and resuscitation of level one trauma patients,   first assist OR skills , chest tubes, central lines, and other procedures.

 

Role : Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners

Location : 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102

Setting : Inpatient, trauma surgery

Schedule:   Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts.   Premium differentials offered .

Call schedule:   No call

Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Licensure : Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Training : Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience : New graduates welcome to apply

 

Preferred:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a surgical setting.
