Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will support a dedicated team in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll lead and mentor other veterinarians, perform spay/neuter surgeries, and ensure the well-being of both animals and clients, making a meaningful impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Support internal ASPCA departments with medical consultations
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
