Job Description

Join UnitedHealthcare as a Pension and Eligibility Administration Manager to oversee pension benefits administration for labor union clients. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with ERISA regulations, and enhance operational efficiencies while making a positive impact on participants' financial futures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train department staff ensuring high performance
  • Oversee processing of pension applications, benefit calculations, and payments
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of employer contributions
  • Oversee eligibility determinations for pension benefits
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping of participant data
  • Respond to complex participant inquiries and resolve disputes
  • Oversee implementation of new clients
  • Collaborate with plan professionals such as auditors and legal counsel
  • Assist with technology upgrade projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3+ years of current or previous experience in pension and eligibility administration, preferably in a labor union environment
  • 3+ years of Management or Supervisory experience
  • Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be able to work on-site in Indianapolis, IN
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday during normal business hours, including occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications

  • CEBS, ASPPA, or other relevant certification in pension/benefits administration
  • Experience with pension administration software and technology systems
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience enhancing operational efficiency and driving process improvements
  • Experience interpreting complex data including legal documents
  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations affecting multi-employer benefit plans
  • Familiarity with union contracts and collective bargaining agreements
