Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekly Compensation: Up to $1,950/week , based on experience
Position Summary
The OR RN Circulator will play an integral role in ensuring the highest standards of surgical care are met. You will assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to promote a safe and effective perioperative environment.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies
- Assess patient and family needs to provide comprehensive, quality care
- Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel efficiently for effective case management
- Ensure cost containment by using supplies economically and maintaining efficient turnover times
- Prepare the operating room according to patient and procedural requirements
- Implement and monitor the plan of care to ensure a safe and sterile environment
- Perform patient positioning, padding, prepping, and draping to maintain comfort and safety
- Conduct surgical “time-out” procedures to confirm correct patient, procedure, and surgical site
- Maintain asepsis throughout procedures; manage sterile supplies and verify expiration dates
- Account for all sponges, needles, and sharps during and after procedures with proper documentation
- Promote effective communication and teamwork among surgical staff and anesthesia personnel
- Stay current with certifications, licensure, and continuing education
- Serve as a role model and mentor for peers and new staff
- Comply with all safety training and infection control standards
- Adhere to exposure control plans and assume additional duties as assigned
Education and Certification Requirements - Active RN license in the state of Arkansas (or compact state eligibility)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (through the American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent Operating Room RN Circulator experience preferred
- CNOR certification highly desirable but not required
