Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Assignment Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: January 31, 2026
• Location: Hickory, NC (Zip: 28602) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Birthing Center, Labor & Delivery Unit
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), weekdays with every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570 - $1,680
• Travel Nursing Experience: Preferred

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (Mother/Baby nursing experience required)
• Active Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or compact state; pending status with ETA accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to work every other weekend and flex to a 4th shift if needed
• Travel RN experience preferred

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy birthing center
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with triage of obstetrical patients
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic charting systems
• Float within the hospital as needed
• Participate in orientation and comply with all facility policies and procedures
