ER RN Job Details

• Location: Brooklyn, Maryland (21225) – Baltimore area
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/9/2025 – End: 3/10/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Scrubs: Navy Blue (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience in a high-volume ED (125+ visits/day within the past 8 months)
• Active RN license (Compact or Maryland)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, TNCC
• Essential skills: Triage, IV Starts, Phlebotomy
• Preferred skills: Cerner charting, Charge nurse experience
• Previous charge and preceptor experience preferred
• Ability to care for all patient age groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two supervisor references required
• 1-3 prior travel nurse assignments preferred

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care for urgent and emergent cases in the Emergency Department
• Perform triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy procedures
• Manage a patient load of 1:4 in a busy ED (average 150 visits/day)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including radiology, social services, and unit secretary
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR (preferred)
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required
• Mentor and train new staff as a preceptor (if applicable)
• Comply with all safety and infection control protocols, including COVID-19 precautions
