LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12 hours, days, nights

Experience Requirements

  • Level 3 or 4 NICU skills required
  • NICU Charge RN experience
  • Delivery/Resuscitation experience
  • Travelers must be willing to rotate; managers determine movement based on schedule needs
  • 1st-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

  • BLS, ACLS, NRP
  • Additional NICU-specific certifications preferred (facility may specify)

Special Notes:

  • All hours logged as Charge will receive applicable Charge pay bump rate
  • Travelers must have a vehicle for this assignment
  • Floating may be required; Seaside floating receives +$5/hr incentive plus IRS mileage reimbursement
  • If floating consecutive shifts, hotel accommodations provided
  • Facility will provide as much notice as possible for floating to Seaside

IV Therapy / Line Management:

  • Arterial line management
  • Central line blood draw
  • Central line/implanted line care
  • UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter)
  • UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)

Work Settings / Procedures:

  • Attend high-risk deliveries
  • NICU II / NICU III

Endocrine / Metabolic:

  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Hyperbilirubinemia
  • Phototherapy

Gastrointestinal:

  • Breastfeeding support / handling of breast milk
  • Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
  • Placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes

Respiratory:

  • Bubble CPAP
  • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
  • Respiratory distress syndrome
  • Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Cardiovascular:

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Infectious Disease:

  • Isolation precautions

Neurologic:

  • Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

Patient Types:

  • Neonates < 24–28 weeks
  • Neonates 29–34 weeks
  • Neonates > 34 weeks

Additional Skills:

  • Charge nurse responsibilities
