Job Description
Join the Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment (CARE) as the Director of Veterinary Services, where you'll lead veterinary care for dogs affected by cruelty and neglect. This pivotal role combines hands-on veterinary responsibilities with management duties, ensuring high-quality care and support for vulnerable animals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality veterinary care to animals in need
Manage medical cases and ensure compassionate care
Supervise veterinary technicians
Maintain medical records and oversee animal census
Lead team meetings and develop standard operating procedures
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
3+ years in general practice, specialty, and/or shelter setting
New York State veterinary license
Fear Free Shelter certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in shelters
