Join Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care as a Licensed Veterinary Technician - Emergency Lead, where you'll provide expert emergency nursing care while leading a dedicated team in a collaborative environment. This role combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with mentorship and team coordination, ensuring high-quality veterinary emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care, including triage, diagnostics, and treatments
Mentor and coach veterinary technicians and assistants
Coordinate daily staff assignments and manage workflow
Ensure completion of end-of-shift responsibilities
Participate in onboarding and training of new team members
Maintain accurate controlled substance logs
Act as a liaison between the emergency team and hospital leadership
Monitor and manage staffing needs and scheduling adjustments
Uphold hospital protocols and safety standards
Attend leadership meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
CVT/LVT/RVT licensure in good standing
Strong technical skills in emergency settings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior leadership or supervisory experience
Experience with EzyVet or similar hospital management systems
