Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Clinical Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in patient care. You'll support healthcare providers in a collaborative environment, ensuring patients receive top-notch assistance and care during their visits.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room
Complete patient intake according to protocol
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Effective communication with doctors and patients
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
