Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Rosedale, Maryland (21237) – Baltimore area
• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Transitional Care
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract (locum tenens)
• Start Date: November 11, 2025
• End Date: February 10, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680–$1800
• Patient Ratio: 1:12
• Charting System: Cerner (required)
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
• No Call, No Float

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state
• Minimum 3 years of acute hospital experience in cardiac stepdown, transitional care, critical care, or inpatient care
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system
• Excellent time management and patient education skills
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Two supervisor references required
• Ability to attend onsite orientation and complete all required training modules
• Flu vaccine required prior to start date

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the cardiac stepdown and transitional care unit
• Coordinate patient transitions from inpatient care to community settings, ensuring continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care, cardiac health, and ongoing management
• Accurately document patient care and progress using Cerner
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
