Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll train and mentor fellow veterinarians, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and client experience while contributing to a mission that makes a real impact on the lives of pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the clinics
Train veterinarians in spay/neuter techniques and protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
Perform pre-surgery examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care during clinic days
Schedule staff and ensure optimal coverage
Participate in veterinary medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
