Job Description
Join ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a team dedicated to providing quality veterinary care in underserved communities. You'll support both veteran and new veterinarians, ensuring high standards of care while making a significant impact on animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and feedback
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and surgeries
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in veterinary medicine meetings and present cases
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
Fear Free® Shelter certification (required within 60 days of hire)
