Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support fellow veterinarians, ensure high-quality care for every patient, and make a meaningful impact on animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture and foster teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and conduct spay/neuter surgeries
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff for optimal coverage and participate in veterinary medicine meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience
