Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll guide a dedicated team in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines leadership with direct veterinary practice, impacting the lives of pets and their owners while fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule CM staff veterinarians and per diems

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
