Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM or 6:45 PM - 6:45 AM
• Unit: ACU - Combination of Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, and Direct Observation Unit
• Patient ratios: 1:5 medical/surgical, 1:4 telemetry, 1:3 for Direct Observation Unit
• 50-bed unit with self-scheduling (not guaranteed)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: One major and one minor holiday
• Scrub color requirement: Navy
• Float between medical/surgical and telemetry units
• Must be able to read telemetry strips (Phillips monitors with monitor tech available)
• Handle drips including cardizem and amiodarone (non-titrating)
• Ventilator experience with BiPAP or CPAP required
• Common patient diagnoses: Post-surgical, orthopedic, cardiac
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Charge nurse responsibilities included
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Floor-specific orientation: One shift at each facility
• Night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) first to float every other weekend
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
