ICU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area)
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 16 beds
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Dress Code: Charcoal gray scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470 - $1570

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and critical thinking skills
• Experience with ventilator management, sedation, and medication titration preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system is a plus

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care to critically ill adults in a 2:1 patient ratio ICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients using GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Drager ventilators
• Perform advanced ICU procedures: tracheostomy placement, bronchoscopy, and cardioversion
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including techs and unit secretaries
• Educate patients and families, complete communication boards, and participate in medication teaching
• Float in rotation with full-time staff and other travel nurses as needed
• Uphold Trauma III hospital standards and enhance patient experience using AIDET principles
