Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a Stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will have a background in cardiac care, working with patients requiring monitoring and various medical interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for a patient population with cardiology-related diagnoses, including heart failure and post-operative cardiac patients.
- Titrate IV drips including heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine as necessary.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, with the support of dedicated telemetry technicians.
- Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and house supervisors to ensure quality patient care.
- Utilize clinical associates effectively to maintain optimal patient care ratios.
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license required.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
- Preferred experience in cardiac care and familiarity with titration of drips.
