Job Description
Join CalPortland as a Senior Ready-Mix Sales Representative and take charge of sales activities in your territory. You'll engage with customers, forecast market trends, and contribute to the growth of a company with over 130 years of history.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute detailed annual business/sales for the assigned territory
Develop and deliver effective proposal presentations and RFP responses
Understand pricing and proposals
Source and develop customer referrals and relationships
Track trends in the economy and local ready-mix market
Compile competitive and industry information
Provide mix design submittals
Maintain communication regarding customer requirements
Assist in implementing marketing plans as needed
Maintain records of all sales and prospecting activities
Provide timely reports
Adhere to company policies and business ethics
Share expertise with sales team members
Attend industry-related events
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry
Ability to discuss industry, market and product knowledge
Strong formal presentation skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to influence and drive decision-making
Strong analytical skills
Team-player
Mid-level skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Clean driving record (for last five years)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments)
Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
Familiarity with CRM and customer contact databases
Familiarity with ERP-SAP
