Key Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes patients in person
Collects demographic and insurance information
Checks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork
Directs patients to their appointment or procedure
May assist in scheduling add-on appointments
Documents issues and resolutions in electronic medical record
Resolves claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts
Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information
Explains cost information to patients as necessary
Collects co-pay or deductibles
Screens and approves patients for financial assistance programs
Provides technical or functional direction for employees
Assists patients with application processes for financial assistance
Obtains patient signatures as needed
Provides customer service for inbound and outbound calls
Mentors other staff as needed
Required Qualifications
6+ months of customer service experience in healthcare, retail, food service, banking, call center, or similar settings
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire
Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday starting between 6:00 am – 9:00 am
Ability to work every other weekend
Must be 18 years of age or older
