Key Responsibilities
Provides basic nursing care and assists in resident assessments
Documents assessments and communicates significant changes to the interdisciplinary team
Participates in the care planning process and updates care plans as needed
Implements nursing interventions and ensures timely medication administration
Uses critical thinking skills to address changes in residents' conditions
Monitors residents' care and identifies problem areas for resolution
Assists with residents' activities of daily living (ADLs)
Required Qualifications
Education from an accredited school of nursing resulting in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
Current LPN license in the state of employment
CPR and AED certification (or willing to obtain within six months)
IV certification (or willing to obtain within six months)
Ability to assess basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents
Excellent communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+ lbs
Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40 lbs
Manual dexterity and coordination
Visual acuity to distinguish color
Ability to perform necessary documentation electronically and in writing
