Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support a dedicated team in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines leadership and hands-on veterinary work to improve the lives of animals and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Diagnose and treat post-surgical complications
Participate in monthly CM Veterinary Medicine Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
