Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for food cost, food waste, staffing and wages, HACCP, production, pars, orders, and cleanliness
  • Supervises and partners with the Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Ensures proper staffing in all kitchen positions
  • Maintains food quality and safety by following and teaching procedures and recipes
  • Oversees inventory and orders
  • Ensures kitchen equipment is operational
  • Participates in hiring and training of new staff
  • Maintains cleaning standards
  • Creates schedules for kitchen staff
  • Works within a budget to maintain costs and minimize waste

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant
  • Strong culinary knowledge and love of food
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Financial understanding of sales, costs of sales and labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Familiarity with a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Willingness to run occasional front of house shifts
