Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate solid working knowledge of insurance processes, including deductibles, out-of-pockets, and copays
Accurately record payments received from patients and insurance companies
Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies and unpaid balances
Interact with patients and their families to address billing inquiries and assist with payment arrangements
Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts and negotiate payment plans
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions and transactions
Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA
Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status and collections efforts
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
