Job Description

Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Substance Use and Mental Health Therapist. In this full-time role, you'll apply your counseling skills to support individuals with co-occurring disorders, providing both individual and group therapy in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial patient comprehensive substance use and mental health psychosocial assessment
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing
  • Implement and conduct group therapy sessions for adolescent patients
  • Communicate with staff regarding assessment and treatment plans
  • Provide timely documentation and case management
  • Collaborate with community and hospital resources

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling
  • Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
  • Experience in EPIC or similar electronic medical records system
  • Experience in healthcare
