Travel RN – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIC)

Shift: Days, 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Every other weekend required

Certifications Required:

• BLS

• ACLS

Scope of Role:
CVIC nurses rotate between ICU and step-down. Responsibilities include:

• Invasive line monitoring

• Central line management

• Ventilator care

• Chest tube management

• Vasoactive drip titration

• Bedside procedures

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with chest tubes and central lines

• Strong background in caring for critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients

Unit Details:

• 42 total beds (22 ICU and 20 Step-Down)

• Patient ratios:

  • ICU: 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 (depending on acuity/staffing)

  • Step-Down: 4:1 or 5:1

• Floating required to other ICUs

• EMR: Cerner
