Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role blends leadership with hands-on veterinary practice, ensuring compassionate treatment for animals while fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Support new and experienced veterinarians
Lead a high-functioning team
Perform high-quality spay/neuter surgeries
Oversee and monitor medical care provided
Train staff in medical protocols
Provide compassionate veterinary care
Conduct performance reviews and manage team dynamics
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
