Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28602
• Unit: Labor & Delivery – Birthing Center
• Duration: 8 weeks (Start: 12/08/2025 – End: 01/31/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekdays with every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Flexibility: Option to flex to a 4th shift if available
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,570 - $1,680

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (Mother/Baby nursing experience required)
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• NRP certification
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certification preferred
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced birthing center
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with triage of obstetrical patients
• Monitor and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
