Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor – Hospital Setting
Location: Jamaica Plain, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday & every other weekend, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: 13 weeks to start, with strong potential for extension
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Pay:
- Local: $83/hour
- Travel: $3,600 gross/week
About the Role
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a respected hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA, to hire an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor for a full-time assignment. This leadership role ensures high-quality patient care and compliance with hospital standards across multiple units.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for patient care during assigned shifts.
- Supervise and coordinate care for diverse populations (community, DPH, DOC, DMH, DDS).
- Review patient assessments, care plans, and documentation for quality assurance.
- Communicate patient status and updates across shifts and departments.
- Collaborate with Nurse Managers on staffing and performance evaluations.
- Authorize overtime and manage fiscal reports as needed.
- Act as hospital administrator during off-shift hours, including emergency response.
- Lead medical emergency responses (Code Blue/RRT).
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital policies.
- Promote staff education and professional development.
Qualifications
Required at Hire:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and motivate staff.
- CPR certification and advanced life-saving knowledge.
- Familiarity with performance improvement programs and accreditation standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of full-time RN experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- 1+ year in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial role
(Graduate degree in nursing may substitute for 1 year of experience) . - Current and valid Massachusetts RN license.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cultural diversity and ability to work effectively with varied populations.
- Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations.
- Ability to function independently and make critical decisions.
