Job Description
Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Staff Nurse in Behavioral Health, where you'll provide vital nursing care and lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional, family-centered services to pediatric patients. Your expertise will enhance patient outcomes and foster a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care focused on family-centered care
Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients
Perform leadership and professional duties
Participate in staff education and mentoring
Engage in quality improvement and safety duties
Promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care
Support provider staff and participate in systems-based practice
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or must obtain within 5 years
Current certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
Experience working with various organizational levels
Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare
Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC)
