Job Description
Join our team as a Patient Accounts Representative, where you will manage billing inquiries, payment processing, and collections in a healthcare environment. Your expertise will ensure accurate financial records and compliance with healthcare regulations while providing excellent customer service to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes including deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket expenses
Accurately record payments from patients and insurance companies
Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies
Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges
Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts and negotiate payment plans
Maintain detailed records of all patient account interactions
Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations including HIPAA
Generate reports on accounts receivable status and collections efforts
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
