Job Description

Join our team as a Patient Accounts Representative, where you will manage billing inquiries, payment processing, and collections in a healthcare environment. Your expertise will ensure accurate financial records and compliance with healthcare regulations while providing excellent customer service to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes including deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket expenses
  • Accurately record payments from patients and insurance companies
  • Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies
  • Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges
  • Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts and negotiate payment plans
  • Maintain detailed records of all patient account interactions
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations including HIPAA
  • Generate reports on accounts receivable status and collections efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
