Job Summary:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
This opening is in a busy Surgical Urology clinic. Patients seen are from all age ranges but primarily adult to senior. Clinic does not perform pediatric procedures. Only patient rooming will be required for pediatric patients. Clinic staff are very supportive and work as a team assisting each other to ensure smooth process flow. Will be assigned to a provider or procedure room for the duration of shift. Average of 4 procedures per day per room. Average of 15-20 patients daily per provider Daily performed tasks can be expected to include; Rooming, catheters, injections, void trials, pelvic exams, suprapubic tubes, cystoscopy, urodynamic testing, etc. Candidates with previous experience in or coming from an OR or Specialty clinic preferred.
REQUIRED:
1-2 years urology experience as an RN, Surgical experience, Current MI RN licensure, Current BLS certification through AHA.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
-Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
-Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Required Education:
-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certification & Licensure:
-Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
