Work Experience

WOCN RN Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Clinical Practice: Expertly manages patients with ostomies, wounds, fistulas, skin integrity issues, and incontinence, including performing conservative sharp debridement, providing consultations, and recommending specialty surfaces and devices.

Education and Leadership: Identifies and addresses educational needs of patients, staff, and the community, assists in orienting and mentoring nursing students and staff, and contributes to the development of care standards, policies, and clinical pathways.

Collaboration and Research: Actively participates in committees, research, and quality improvement initiatives, serves as a resource for support groups, and enhances patient satisfaction by promoting continuity of care and responding to patient needs.

WOCN RN Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related Bachelor’s Degree.
At least two (2) years of clinical experience as an RN.
Current State of Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
Must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Completion Card before start date and maintain.
Current Board certification by the WOCN Certification Board in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence.

WOC Nurse and Clinical Educator Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Clinical Expertise & Patient Care: Demonstrates specialized nursing skills in managing complex conditions like ostomies, wounds, fistulas, and incontinence, including performing conservative sharp debridement and providing expert consultations to improve patient outcomes.

Education, Leadership & Collaboration: Identifies educational needs and delivers training to patients, families, and healthcare staff; mentors new nurses and students; contributes to policy development and serves in leadership roles on various clinical committees.

Quality Improvement & Community Engagement: Participates in research and performance improvement initiatives, supports continuity of care through community resources, and enhances patient experience through direct engagement and evidence-based practices.

Educator Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related Bachelor’s Degree.
At least two (2) years of clinical experience as an RN.
At least two (2) years clinical experience as a certified WOCN
Current State of Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
Must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Completion Card before start date and maintain.
Current Board certification by the WOCN Certification Board in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence.
