Join Travelers as a Senior Risk Control Consultant, where you'll provide critical insights to Underwriters on hazard management and risk factors, focusing on complex accounts. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide account knowledge regarding hazards, controls, and management to Underwriters
  • Evaluate companies' inherent risk factors and differentiate accounts from similar businesses
  • Build and maintain relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers
  • Complete risk assessment evaluations for complex businesses
  • Write detailed reports communicating risk assessments and recommendations
  • Identify uncontrolled exposures and recommend improvements
  • Stay current with technical subject matters and regulatory environment
  • Create a valued customer experience through assessments and service encounters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences or related fields
  • Seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or related fields
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced level knowledge of insurance industry and business acumen
  • Recognized relevant certifications (such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS)
  • Technical aptitude, detail oriented
  • Superior communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
