Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support both new and experienced veterinarians, ensuring high-quality care while fostering a positive work environment. This role combines clinical responsibilities with people leadership, all aimed at improving animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery exams and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
