As a CDL A Drayage Driver, you will be responsible for transporting overweight containers from ports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining vehicle safety. This role requires strong navigation skills, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Transport overweight containers from ports to designated locations
Navigate port procedures efficiently
Hook and unhook containers; assist with loading and unloading
Perform local deliveries with multiple stops
Maintain vehicle safety and operational alertness
Work independently and focus on tasks
Adapt to changing conditions with a customer-centric approach
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Required Qualifications
Valid Class A Driver’s License
Valid TWIC Card
One year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles
Comfortable making local deliveries with multiple stops
Successful completion of a driving test and DOT pre-employment requirements
Safety-focused with a legal and accurate logbook
Ability to understand bills of lading and picking sheets
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience using an iPad or tablet
