Nocturnist Physician

The Nocturnist Physician provides overnight inpatient adult care at a magnet-designated hospital, working alongside residents and subspecialists in a team-oriented environment. This role involves managing admissions, utilizing Cerner EMR, and participating in a competitive compensation model with multiple incentives. The position requires an MD or DO, board certification, Arizona licensure eligibility, and emphasizes quality care within an academic-affiliated medical group.

• 180 shifts per year (primary schedule 7 on 7 off) consisting of purely nights (6:00 pm - 6:00 am)
• Two nocturnists are assigned during these shifts, affording a manageable workload. In addition, there are 2-3 residents/interns in the team. Average admissions 17/night for the whole team.
• Primary responsibility is on-site adult (admit and cross cover) inpatient care. Superb inhouse subspecialty support. Magnet hospital - rarely need to transfer a patient out!

• MD or DO Degree
• BC/BE
• Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
• Completed ACGME Residency training with current ABMS Board Certification
• Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
