Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll combine leadership with hands-on practice, enhancing animal welfare while fostering a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
Perform high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care and oversee patient treatments
Participate in administrative functions and support internal departments
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
