Key Responsibilities
Provide critical care intensive support for all patients admitted
Manage daily triage rounds and Code Blues
Supervise invasive procedures in the ICU
Consult with Medical Staff and emergency department physicians
Facilitate and manage the appropriate use of specialists
Complete all records and reports timely
Provide orientation and training for healthcare team
Participate in Pulmonary and Critical Care meetings
Plan in-service education programs for staff
Serve as the Subspecialty Education Coordinator for Pulmonary and Critical Care
Deliver didactic lectures and board review for Internal Medicine residents
Report concerns about quality of care
Cooperate with hospitals on new procedures and systems
Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families
Promote good public relations on behalf of the hospital
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
Completion of an accredited ACGME or AOA Internal Medicine Residency
Completion of a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship
Board-certified or eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care
Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California
