Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing visionary leadership and strategic guidance to elevate student achievement
  • Participating in the hiring and selection processes
  • Guiding and assisting teachers in classroom management
  • Consulting with and supporting teachers in the classroom
  • Supervising staff and monitoring performance
  • Ensuring a safe and secure learning atmosphere
  • Maintaining compliance with contractual and state-specific requirements
  • Overseeing daily school operations
  • Representing ChanceLight Education within the community
  • Communicating and collaborating with families and stakeholders
  • Analyzing staff professional development needs
  • Instructing and evaluating teachers and students
  • Maintaining records of student progress
  • Compiling and analyzing student assessment data
  • Managing student behavior through evidence-based interventions
  • Participating in assurance and accreditation processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education leadership, principal, general administration or related credential
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education instruction credential
  • Minimum 5 years prior experience in special education services and compliance
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience working in an educational leadership or school administrator position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative and school operations
  • Prior experience in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in educational leadership, special education, behavioral health or a closely related field of study
  • Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA)
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology
