Job Title: Registered Nurse – ICU/Stepdown Float

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our ICU/Stepdown float team. In this role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of high-quality patient care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will supervise, delegate, and document care while effectively communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

This is a float assignment with staffing adjustments every 4 hours. Candidates must be willing to float between ICU and stepdown units and may be reassigned in 4-hour blocks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee patient care in ICU and stepdown settings.
• Apply clinical judgment to develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in problem-solving and implement solutions for patient care variances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU or stepdown specialty.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Active Michigan RN license.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association).
• Skills:
  • Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in professional nursing services.
  • Competency in basic dysrhythmia interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Certifications: Additional certifications are a plus.
