Job Description
As a Principal Engineer in the Energetics and Propulsion Department, you'll lead the development of advanced one shot devices, working closely with a cross-functional team to design, test, and manage production efforts. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficacy of weapon initiation systems that support national defense.
Key Responsibilities
Develop architectures and top-level design concepts for one shot devices
Provide technical oversight to various subcontractors
Manage subcontract suppliers to deliver required subsystem components
Interface with customers to identify user needs
Contribute to technology development roadmaps
Support failure analysis and corrective action through redesign
Present design models and supporting analyses/test results
Support proposals requiring one shots technologies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
Ten or more years of directly related experience in one shot devices and their applications
Directly related experience in one shots subsystems design, development, and test
Experience in working with and managing one shot suppliers
Supplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW)
Experience in business development and technology road mapping
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Experience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives
